




Hyland Blvd. Intersection
The scope of this $6.1 million NYCDDC project was completed to alleviate flooding and improve traffic flow along Hylan Boulevard, a main traffic artery of Staten Island. The project was a high priority of the Staten Island Borough President’s Office, which created left turning lanes, new center medians, widening of portions of the boulevard, added traffic signalization and provided storm sewer improvements to alleviate flooding.

Work Completed Includes:
- Installation of 12” & 16” DIP storm sewers.
- Installation of new catch basins and basin connections.
- Replace sections of existing water mains.
- Placement of 3” ACWC asphaltic concrete wearing surface.
- Milling of existing pavement.
- Construction of new steel face concrete curb.
- Installation of 4” and 7” concrete sidewalks.
- Traffic signage and signalization.
